About this service
Portsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service is trauma informed service which aims to address sexual violence and domestic abuse in our community and across the UK by facilitating awareness through our training, supervision and consultancy to community groups and services. We aim to create disruption to narratives that uphold abuse through community projects, and our counselling service enables healing and empowerment through therapeutic support to survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse across Portsmouth and Southeast Hampshire.
More Information
PARCS is here to listen, believe and support you.
Our counselling service gives you an opportunity to talk to someone about your experiences and how they may be impacting you and your life. We offer a space to support you to heal and help empower you in being yourself and making your own choices. It can sometimes be hard to put your thoughts and feelings into words and make sense of your experiences. This is why we work with everyone as an individual with the clients need at the centre of everything we do. Sometimes you may wish to work creatively through drawings or objects, or you may just wish for your story to be heard. Whatever you bring, we are here for you.
Please note the PARCS helpline is now closed due to funding constraints.
Help is available from the following national agencies:
- National Domestic Abuse Helpline: 0800 9995 428
- Rape Crisis: 0808 500 2222 (Open 24/7)
