Akelius is partnering with Family Action to fund English tuition at our FOOD clubs in London and Essex.
By supporting those with English as a second language, this initiative empowers families to access new opportunities—from local volunteering to meaningful employment.
Since 2020, we have been working in partnership with Barclays to support vulnerable families. In 2020, Barclays launched their COVID-19 Community Aid Package which enabled us to help over 4,000 families affected by the pandemic by providing financial grants programme and opening 18 new Food On Our Doorstep (FOOD) Clubs.
We now work in partnership with Barclays to help deliver the Barclays LifeSkills programme across England, bringing vital skills and support directly into local communities. Delivered through LifeSkills Open (group-based support) and LifeSkills Plus (referral-based, one-to-one support), the service reaches people through Family Action’s services and trusted partner organisations. LifeSkills Assistance Grants are also available, helping to remove practical barriers and provide holistic support. Together, this partnership is helping people meet essential household needs, build confidence, and develop the practical employability, digital and financial skills needed to access jobs now and in the future.
Bloomberg has worked with Family Action since 2021 as a key supporter of our HeadStart skills and employability programme.
HeadStart empowers young people to develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to secure and stay in employment.
Credit Karma came onboard as a partner early in 2025. They are donating to Family Action as part of their 25 Million Point Challenge.
The goal is to encourage their members to enhance their financial standing and collectively increase their credit scores in 2025 by 25 million points.
DC Advisory has supported Family Action in a whole range of ways over recent years – for example taking part in our annual Toy Appeal and also through our challenge events. They have recently come onboard as a partner and are also supporting by volunteering at our FOOD clubs in London and Manchester.
NewDay is Family Action’s longest-standing corporate partner, supporting us since 2016 and raising over £2m through financial contributions, volunteering, gifts in kind and fundraising events such as the London to Paris Cycle and National Three Peaks Challenge. The partnership is based on a shared vision of helping people move forward.
Previous partners
We teamed up with Fisher-Price to create a Play Programme showcasing the value of play in early childhood development. The campaign featured CBeebies Baby Club presenter Gemma Atkinson. Additionally, Fisher-Price donated 2,000 toys to our Toy Appeal.
LV= supported Family Action for 4 years – with the shared vision to empower every adult family member to reach out when they need help and access practical and emotional support. The goals of this partnership were to raise awareness of Family Action’s free helpline FamilyLine; reduce the stigma around asking for help and fund the growth of this vital service.
LV= support included financial contributions, encouraging employee volunteering and a whole range of fundraising events. Through our FamilyLine service over 30,000 families were supported because through this partnership.
With support from LV= we introduced counselling and befriending to the helpline – deepening our support for struggling families. LV= also raised awareness of the helpline with their vulnerable customers.
LV=’s financial contribution was almost £1.5 million.
With support from Meals & More, we supported struggling families during the school holidays through our Holiday Hub programme, which aimed to address poor social inclusion, food insecurity, and financial strain.
Thousands of families have benefited from the support provided because of the generous Poundland Foundation donation.
This donation has given Family Action the ability to support thousands more families each year through our free, UK wide FamilyLine helpline. This donation enabled the development of online self-help tools for those seeking information on many of the common challenges faced by families – from family conflict to concerns about mental health. There was also in store branding to raise awareness of this free support for families.
Student Roost supported Family Action through financial contributions, volunteering and gifts in kind. Including, Toy Appeal Campaign, Headstart day, FamilyLine volunteering, FOOD club volunteering and food donations.
We partnered with The Times to tell real-life stories from families and raise funds for those hit hardest during the pandemic. As a result, readers donated £776,143 – the largest sum raised in the newspaper’s history
