The Family Action difference
When we have the support we need, we can shape or reshape our futures for ourselves. Family Action makes a difference because we understand the power of family and working with not ‘doing to’.
There are many ways to be a family, it’s relationships that matter. Even when we work with individuals, our specialist teams try to understand and work with the whole family – whatever family means for people.
The project has not only been the hand that brought me out of the darkness but also the hand that wiped my tears, held me up when I was weak. It has been like a Mum to me.
Our focus on impact
Our strategy sets out our objectives as an organisation, chief among which is ensuring we maximise our positive impact on society – how we make the world around us a better place. Our mission is to protect children, support young people and adults and offer direct, practical help to families and communities.
Another key objective is ensuring the quality of our work. Family Action employs specialist, dedicated teams and we place a high value on continuous learning and improvement. We have invested in organisation-wide Practice Development that offers reflection and sharing of best practice across all the key areas we work in.
We collect and report on outcomes data to commissioners and funders and use the information to inform our own evaluation so that we can keep doing things better.
I hope you hear how much of a difference you have made in mine and my children’s lives this year. It really brightens my day and has helped me through a really sad time in my life.
