About this service

We are an adult community mental health and wellbeing project based in Bolton, supporting people with a lived experience of mental health to reach their potential, as defined by themselves. Looking to deliver meaningful activities, reduce isolation and build confidence, we offer group work to learn, build friendships and be part of a community. Our one-to-one outreach team works alongside people, in locations that work for them, to highlight individual strengths and build a plan to reach self-identified goals.

More Information

We work closely with clients to build trust and enable them to talk about their individual situation, whilst also looking to their desires and goals for the future. We support clients to identify issues that may impact on their health and wellbeing, such as debt, living conditions, unemployment, loneliness and caring responsibilities.

Together, we produce a personalised health and wellbeing plan based on priorities, interests, values and motivations. We discuss the potentials of community groups, possible activities and other services, as well as what the individual can do for themselves to improve their health and wellbeing. To promote maximum engagement and success, we work to identify support needs and look to have these in place as a solid foundation.

We support, through assessments and co-designed plans, through the various phases of recovery including:

  • Stuck
  • Accepting help
  • Believing
  • Learning
  • Self-reliance

Co-production and recovery in mental health is at the centre of all of BAND's work, with all our services based on the Recovery in Mental Health Model.
