West Suffolk Neurodevelopmental Support Service aims to help parents and carers to:
• Gain a deeper understanding of behaviours and what these may be communicating to us
• Develop their own toolbox of strategies for supporting their child or young person
• Advocate for their child or young person within the wider family, in education and in life

We offer support and guidance to parents and carers in a variety of ways, such as:
- 3-week ‘Plan Bee’ Course
- 6-week Teen Life course written by the National Autistic Society
- Bespoke webinars
- Monthly drop-ins attended by our experienced team
- Signposting to resources and other services, including Family Action’s FamilyLine
- Monthly newsletters
- Facebook page offering information and advice
(All of our courses and webinars are free of charge)
Plan Bee is a 3-week course to support parents and carers to understand their child or young person’s individual needs. The course was written by two Clinical Psychologists, with input from autistic adults. It is designed to support parents and carers whose child may have or is diagnosed with Autism or ADHD. The course is delivered face to face across West Suffolk and online.
Teen Life Course (National Autistic Society) is a face to face, 6-week programme which supports parents and carers of children aged 10-16 with a diagnosis of Autism.
Bespoke Webinars which are 60-90 minutes in duration, covering topics including Sleep, Anxiety, Transition in Schools, Social Knowledge and the Low Demand Approach, with a specific focus on neurodivergence.
Monthly Drop-Ins take place at the following locations:
- Oakes Barn, St Andrews Street, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3PH
- Clements Community Centre, Leiston Road, Haverhill, CB9 8JJ
We can also deliver our courses in community centres and schools across West Suffolk.
