About this service
We are a free, impartial and confidential service aimed at empowering children and young people (aged 0-25) as well as their parents/carers to make informed choices about education, health and social care. We help you clearly understand your rights around SEND law and practices, providing local knowledge and signposting, so you can make sure your voice is heard.

Trying to find support with special educational needs and/or disabilities, but don’t know where to turn?
We offer impartial information, advice and support for children & young people with SEND and parents/carers in Dorset.
Our service provides:
- online referral form Dorset SENDIASS Initial Contact Form (office.com)
- a telephone helpline with 24-hour voicemail (Please leave a message and we will arrange to call you back. Please include any urgent deadlines or need, your postcode and availability, so that we can triage your call appropriately. We will usually respond within 5 working days)
- email advice line
- face-to-face support
- help to prepare for meetings
- written information
- signposting to other services and people who can help
- support through the Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan process
