Family Action appointed to deliver children’s residential care and family support services on the Isle of Man

30 June 2026

From 1st July, Family Action will deliver children’s residential care and wider support services on the Isle of Man, marking a significant expansion of our work on the Island.

Under a new contract awarded by the Isle of Man Government, we will provide residential care alongside therapeutic support and leaving and aftercare services for children, young people, care leavers and families.

This is a moment we’re proud of, and a responsibility we don’t take lightly.

We believe young people need and deserve our support, not just as the adults of tomorrow, but for who they are and what they’re experiencing today.

Family can be a source of protection and joy, and it can also be a source of pain. Our holistic view of family underpins our new provision for children and young people who need a safe, stable place to live and people they can rely on.

There are many ways to be a family, it’s the quality of our relationships that matter. At Family Action, we meet people where they are, as they are, and help them build from their strengths. We believe that when people have the support they need, they can shape or reshape their futures for themselves.

Through delivering residential care together with therapeutic support and leaving and aftercare services, we aim to ensure children, young people and families on the Isle of Man receive the right support at the right time.

The contract will run for an initial three years, with the option to extend, and builds on our existing presence on the Isle of Man, where we already deliver family support and supervised contact services.

Sir David Holmes, Chief Executive of Family Action said,

Family Action is both honoured and delighted to be entrusted with the provision of residential care, wraparound, leaving and aftercare services for children, young people, care leavers and families in the Isle of Man.

We fully understand the responsibility that comes with the provision of these vital services, and we will use all our energy, expertise and commitment to provide the very best services possible to everyone who needs them.

We are privileged already to have long experience of providing high-quality family support and supervised contact services on the Island and it is so exciting for us to be given the chance to do more.

We look forward to working in close partnership with the Isle of Man Government to ensure that every individual in our care is supported with dignity and compassion and is given every opportunity to reach their full potential in life.
