Digital Engagement Volunteer

Time Commitment

6 months, 3 hours per week

Role Based Details

Hybrid role, mainly from home but with some work in the local Southend Community

Who does this role help?

Families, Adults

Our Digital Engagement Volunteers help create and share innovative digital content to promote the work of our services in communities, so we can continue to improve life chances and benefit the wellbeing of local families.

Who you will be helping

Our volunteers work with us to help us use digital and social media platforms, to reach more individuals and families, ensuring that our limited resources are used to support those with the greatest need.

The difference you will make

Our volunteers help us get the word out about our service. Often those who would most benefit from our work are those who are least likely to hear about it. They may be people who are very isolated and don’t know that there is help available, or it may be that they are simply too busy dealing with the pressures of everyday life to look for support.

By working with us to engage with communities online, you will help increase the visibility of our services, you will help more people access our service and get the support they need.

Typical tasks within this role:

  • This role focuses on promoting FOOD Clubs in Southend digitally. FOOD Club supports people who face food poverty.
  • You will promote our FOOD Clubs digitally to the community to recruit new members.
  • You will research and find local community groups that would benefit in knowing about our FOOD Clubs and share our services with them to help recruit volunteers and members.
  • You will create digital content to help Family Action reach out to local businesses to gain support.
  • You will promote the sustainability of the project and how we reduce food waste by creating content and sharing this on digital platforms.
