
About this service
The children and young people we see have experienced one, or multiple, traumas including domestic, sexual, emotional, physical abuse, neglect or a traumatic bereavement. We use creative interventions such as art, dance movement and drama therapy to help children/young people manage their trauma symptoms and process their trauma, incorporating evidence-based approaches. We also work with the whole family to strengthen attachments and help to rebuild and repair relationships impacted by trauma.
Our consultancy offer supports professionals in helping to make sense of the child’s/young person’s trauma responses, in order to provide safety and stability as well as respond compassionately to their needs.
How to access this service
Children’s Trauma Therapy Service would encourage the supporting professional to complete the referral with the family, and where there is not an appropriate professional then we can accept self-referrals.
