About this service
Commissioned by Medway Council, we provide supervised opportunities for looked after children and young people to stay in touch with their parents, wider family members and other important people in their lives. Referrals for Medway Family Time come from Medway social workers, when there are care proceedings taking place and Family Time in a supervised setting is in the child or young person’s best interests.
More Information
We provide opportunities for looked after children and young people to stay in touch with their parents and in some cases their wider family members or other people who are important to them, when there is a need for this time to be supervised. A supervisor is allocated to be present throughout the whole Family Time session and a written record is kept, which is then shared with the child or young persons social worker.Â
The majority of children referred to this service are via Medway social workers and are on Interim Care Orders, although some may be Section 20 or have another legal status.Â
